Even experienced coaches miss things in their own sessions. That's what makes mentor coaching so valuable. A mentor coach listens to your actual coaching and helps you see what's working and what to try next.

Choose the right mentor coaching for you. Two types of mentor coaching, choose the one that meets your needs. Enhanced Mentor Coaching is for completing our Level 2 Certificate Program, applying for a new ACC or PCC, and ACC renewal. Renewal Mentor Coaching is for ACC renewal only.
Skip the high-stakes recording. Starting in 2027, your enhanced mentor coaching replaces the ICF performance evaluation for our Level 2 program and ACC and PCC Portfolio applicants. (More below.)

Enhanced Mentor Coaching

Mentor coaching required for completing our Level 2 Certificate Program or applying for a new ACC or PCC. And it can be used for ACC renewal.

Review of 3 of your client coaching recordings.
A Session Observation Form for each recording we review.
A completed Competency Review Form for your ICF application.
Documentation for 20 ICF training hours, which include 10 Enhanced mentor coaching hours (count them once, not twice).

Renewal Mentor Coaching

Mentor coaching for ACC renewal only.

Documentation for 15 ICF Core Competency training hours, which include 10 mentor coaching hours (count them once, not twice).

How it works

Five simple steps over 3 months.

Pick your dates and enroll. Choose a group that fits your schedule. Groups are capped at 10 people.
Join 4 live group sessions. Each is 2 hours. You'll learn the PCC Markers, watch real coaching, practice, and get feedback. (see dates below)
Prepare client recordings. For Enhanced Mentor Coaching, your mentor coach reviews 3 recordings against the ICF standards. For Renewal Mentor Coaching, bring a recording to your one-on-ones.
Meet one-on-one. Go over your recordings together. Celebrate what's working and pick what to grow next. You schedule these directly with your mentor coach.
Get your documentation. Enhanced Mentor Coaching receives 20 ICF training hours (including 10 mentor coaching hours), 3 Session Observation Forms, and a completed Competency Review Form. Renewal Mentor Coaching receives 15 ICF training hours (including 10 mentor coaching hours).

Before you enroll

You're ready if you have:

40 or more hours of coach training.
50 or more hours of coaching clients.
3 client sessions you can record during the course and share (with your clients' permission).

What we ask of you:

Attend the group sessions live. The ICF doesn't count listening to a recording. If you miss one, a live make-up session is $200.
Finish your one-on-one hours within 4 months of the start date.
Give 24 hours' notice to move a one-on-one session. Your mentor coach holds that time just for you, so late changes cost $200.
Read The Reflective Journal for Coaches. It's included.

Common questions

I'm renewing my ACC. Which type of mentor coaching should I take? The ICF requires 10 hours of mentor coaching each time you renew your ACC. Both Enhanced Mentor Coaching and Renewal Mentor Coaching give you all 10. If you also plan to use this mentor coaching towards a PCC credential or your Level 2 Certificate, you will need Enhanced Mentor Coaching. Renewal Mentor Coaching only applies to your ACC renewal. Tip: if you're more than 3 years away from applying for your PCC, then you might take Renewal Mentor Coaching now and 3 years later take Enhanced Mentor Coaching to qualify for your Level 2 Certificate or PCC application.

I'm completing my Level 2 or applying for ACC or PCC through the Portfolio path. Do I still need a performance evaluation? If you apply on or after April 1, 2027, no. Your Enhanced Mentor Coaching and the Competency Review Form takes its place, and we complete it for you. Keep your Session Observation Forms in case the ICF audits your application.

Do the hours add up to 30? No. You earn 15 or 20 ICF training hours. 10 of those also count as your mentor coaching hours. Count them only once.

What if I miss a group session? The ICF requires all mentor coaching to be live. Contact us and we'll set up a live make-up session for $200.
